Content Creation
Mercator's Cylindrical Projection
- Spherical Wrapping: Imagine wrapping a cylinder around the equator.
- Projection Method: Points on the Earth are projected perpendicularly onto the cylinder.
- Unwrapping the Cylinder: The cylinder is then “unwrapped” into a flat map, preserving angles but distorting sizes, especially near the poles.
